Dua When It Rains
Rain in the sunnah is never just weather — it is mercy arriving, and one of the moments when dua is answered. The Prophet ﷺ had words for the rain itself and for the morning after.
اللَّهُمَّ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا
Allāhumma ṣayyiban nāfiʿā.
"O Allah, a beneficial rain."
Sahih al-Bukhari 1032
مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ
Muṭirnā bifaḍlillāhi wa raḥmatih.
"We have been given rain by the grace of Allah and His mercy."

How and when to say it
Say the first as the rain falls — two words asking that this rain bring benefit, not harm.
The second is for afterwards: attributing the rain to Allah’s grace rather than to "the weather" alone.
The time of rainfall is also narrated as a moment when dua is unlikely to be rejected — worth using for whatever sits on your heart.
