Mixed: cautious in a man’s dream, gentler as a woman’s adornment.
Heritage, not prophecy. Only Allah knows the unseen (27:65).
Gold in a dream gets mixed readings in the Islamic tradition. For a man, interpreters tend to be cautious, partly because the Prophet ﷺ saw two golden bangles on his hands in a dream, disliked them, and read them as two liars. For a woman, gold is often read more gently, as adornment. Either way, a dream of gold is not a forecast of money or of trouble.

“two golden bangles were put in my two hands”
Sahih al-Bukhari 7034
He disliked them, was allowed to blow them away, and interpreted them as two liars of his own time. It was his interpretation of his own dream, not a rule that gold means a liar in yours.
Those will have gardens of perpetual residence; beneath them rivers will flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on adorned couches. Excellent is the reward, and good is the resting place.
Al-Kahf 18:31 · Saheeh International
To be fair to gold: the Qur’an also uses golden bracelets as an image of the reward of Paradise. Gold is not evil in itself, which is why the readings stay mixed.
Gold has a way of catching the eye, even in sleep. The tradition was never afraid of beauty, only of the heart getting tied to it. If gold was shining in your dream, it might be worth a quiet look at what you are holding tightly right now. Is there something you love that you could hold a little more lightly, for Allah’s sake?
If you woke up worried about a golden ring or bangle in your dream, you can put that worry down. The bangles the Prophet ﷺ saw had a meaning for his own time, and it was his to interpret. Gold in your sleep does not mean someone near you is lying, and it is not a fortune either. Let Allah be your security.
Thank Allah for it. If you tell it, tell someone who loves you or someone with sound judgment.
Sahih al-Bukhari 6985 · Sunan Abi Dawud 5020
Sahih Muslim 2261, 2262, 2263 · the Prophet ﷺ said it “will not harm him” (Sahih al-Bukhari 6985)
In Hush you can tell Layla everything you saw. She listens, reminds you what the sunnah says, and helps your heart settle. Never a fortune.

For a woman, it is often read more gently, as adornment. Finding gold is read by some as wealth and by others as trouble. None of it is a forecast, and none of it is certain.
Interpreters tend to be cautious, because men do not wear gold in Islam, and because the Prophet ﷺ disliked the two golden bangles he saw in a dream and read them as two liars (Sahih al-Bukhari 7034). That was his reading for his own time. It does not mean anyone near you is lying.
Gold is a lawful adornment for women, and the tradition often reads it in a woman’s dream gently, as beauty, adornment or ease. The Qur’an even uses bracelets of gold as an image of Paradise (18:31). Still, it is heritage, not a promise. Enjoy the good feeling and thank Allah for it.
Interpreters disagree. Some read finding gold as wealth or a gain, others as the trouble that comes with wealth, and that disagreement is the honest answer. A dream cannot tell you what is coming, because only Allah knows the unseen (27:65). If it stirred a wish for provision, ask Allah for what is good and lawful.
